Magento 2 Order Labels

(5Reviews)

Meetanshi's Magento 2 Order Labels extension adds color-coded labels to your order grid so your team can read an order's context at a glance. Create labels manually, from built-in presets, or with rules that assign themselves, then organize them into custom, filterable columns.

Key Features:

  • Static, dynamic (rule-based), and predefined label types
  • Rule-based auto-assignment from order conditions
  • Custom label columns that are filterable and sortable
Compatible with: Magento CE, EE 2.3.x, 2.4.x

Description

Order Labels

A busy Magento order grid is hard to scan. Status alone does not tell you that an order is from a first-time customer, paid by cash on delivery, shipping internationally, or worth flagging as high value. Your team ends up opening orders one by one to find the context they need.

Meetanshi's Magento 2 Order Labels extension fixes that by letting you attach clear, color-coded labels to orders and show them right in the grid. Labels can be applied by hand, set from a list of common presets, or assigned automatically by rules you define. You group labels into your own columns, decide which ones can be filtered and sorted, and restrict who sees them, so the order grid reflects the way your business actually works.

Magento Order Grid Custom Label Columns

Three Label Types to Fit Any Workflow

Every label is configured in the admin screen with clear properties to match your operational requirements. Static labels are applied manually to specific orders, useful for one-off flags and notes. Predefined labels cover common scenarios out of the box, including First Time Customer, Repeat Customer, Partially Shipped, Partially Invoiced, Back Order, High Value Order, Cash on Delivery, and International.

Label Appearance and Display

Manage and design each label configuration under your primary administration catalog to represent priority levels clearly:

  • Display Type: Render as Image Only, Text Only, Image and Text, or Text and Image.
  • Hex Color Control: Custom color pickers define exact background and font color codes.
  • Icon Image Asset: Safe upload systems for PNG, JPG, GIF, or SVG icons.
  • Default Notes: Pre-fill custom administrative notes for staff context on manual flag assignments.

Auto-Assign Labels with Rule-Based Conditions

Dynamic labels use a condition builder like Magento's native rules. Set a label to apply if ALL or ANY of your conditions are true, for example when order status is Complete or the grand total is over a threshold.

Turn on "Auto-Remove When Conditions No Longer Match" and a label clears itself once the order no longer qualifies, so the grid stays accurate without manual cleanup.

Organize Labels into Custom Grid Columns

Labels live inside columns you create, such as Priority, Payment Type, Customer Type, Shipping Type, or Promotions. For each column you set its position, decide whether it can hold multiple labels at once, and choose whether it is filterable and sortable in the order grid.

That turns simple status labels into a fast way to segment and find orders, rather than just basic decoration.

Manage Label Grid Columns

Keep a Record with the Labels Log

The Labels Log keeps an automated history of label activity, so you can review when and how labels were applied across your orders.

Perfect for store owners seeking to audit custom workflows, manual notes, system automation updates, or individual team member interactions with back-end orders.

How It Works

Setting up labels takes a few minutes in the Magento admin, with no developer needed.

  1. 1
Create your columns under Order Labels > Manage Columns. Give each a name and code, set its position, and choose whether it allows multiple labels and is filterable or sortable.
  2. 2
Add a label under Order Labels > Manage Labels. Enter a label name and a unique code (lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores).
  3. 3
Pick a label type: Static, Dynamic (Rule-Based), or Predefined. For Predefined, choose your required preset.
  4. 4
Set conditions for dynamic labels. Define rules that trigger labels, and optionally activate auto-remove.
  5. 5
Assign the label to a designated column and set its numerical layout priority.
  6. 6
Style your label inside the Appearance configuration parameters (display types, branding colors, icon, and optional default notes).
  7. 7
Restrict visibility parameters to specific store view modules or target customer groups, or leave it globally applicable.
