Ecommerce stores offer features that make it easier to shop online for customers.
One of them is the “Remember me” functionality that saves the users to enter their account credentials each time they log in to the store.
However, the “remember me” feature is not enabled by default in Magento 1.
Also, for security purposes, the stores may not want to enable it.
The below tutorial shows how to enable or disable remember me functionality in Magento 1 and Magento 2 store with ease.
Steps to Enable/Disable Remember Me Functionality in Magento 2:
1. Login to admin panel
2. Go to Stores > Configuration
3. Under Customers, select Persistent Shopping Cart
4. Expand General Options
5. Set yes/no in the Enable “Remember Me” field as per your requirement

6. Save the configuration
Steps to Enable/Disable Remember Me Functionality in Magento 1:
1. Login to admin panel
2. Go to System > Configuration
3. Under Customers, select Persistent Shopping Cart
4. Expand General Options
5. Set yes to “Enable Persistence“
6. Set yes/no in the Enable “Remember Me” field as per your requirement

7. Save the configuration
