One such example is to configure payment failed email in Magento 2 store.
The customers should get an acknowledgment whether their payment is completed successfully or not. It helps gain their trust and loyalty towards your store. Apart from that, sending such emails with an invite back to your store to complete the purchase helps reduce the cart abandonment rate.
Even if there is a technical glitch or any other issue due to which the payment method is failed at the checkout, the customer should be informed of the same.
Also, the admin or the authorized person in Magento 2 store should be informed about failed transactions and hence they can take the necessary actions.
However, managing these things manually is not feasible.
Instead, you can enable SMTP in Magento 2 store, and configure the automatic emails sent to customers or admin on payment method failure in Magento 2.
The method for the same is shown below:
Steps to Configure Payment Failed Email in Magento 2:
1. Login to admin panel
2. Go to Stores > Configurations
3. Go to Checkout under the Sales tab
4. Expand the “Payment Failed Emails” section and configure the below options:
- Payment Failed Email Sender – Configure the store contact that is selected as the sender of the message.
- Payment Failed Email Receiver – Configure the store contact that is to receive the email notification of the failed payments.
- Payment Failed Template – Select the template for the email that is sent on payment method failure at the checkout step.
- Send Payment Failed Email Copy To – Configure the email addresses of those who are supposed to receive a copy of the payment failed notification.
- Send Payment Failed Email Copy Method
- Bcc – The BCC recipient is not visible to the customer.
- Separate Email – Send the copy as a separate email.
5. Save the configuration.
