Our research found that users are not quite satisfied with the apps from some of the top developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Retail Barcode Labels&#8221; by Shopify is the most disliked app, with an <strong>average rating of 2.3 from 565 reviews<\/strong>. In fact, <strong>9 out of 33 apps developed by Shopify<\/strong>&nbsp;have an average rating of 2.5 or less. Because users hold high expectations from the official apps, which Shopify did not meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-much-does-a-shopify-app-cost\">How Much Does a Shopify App Cost?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shopify offers a wide range of free and paid apps on a monthly subscription basis. And many apps have multiple pricing plans as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The average cost of a Shopify app (considering all the plans) is <strong>$66.54 per month<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The average cost of the highest plan for Shopify apps is approximately <strong>$54.87 per month<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5,642 Shopify apps (45.80%) offer <strong>at least one free plan or trial<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The most expensive Shopify apps are &#8220;Wholster: Wholesale B2B&#8221; by Gist and &#8220;ergo \u2011 Offer Tool &amp; Analytics&#8221; by ergo Offers, Inc. Their highest plan costs <strong>$999.99 per month<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a weak but also positive correlation between apps offering free plans and their popularity. Meaning Shopify apps that offer free plans or free trials are more likely to get popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"shopify-app-store-average-ratings\">Shopify App Store Average Ratings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of reviews and average ratings are the key factors to measure the Shopify app&#8217;s success. In fact, the number of reviews is an essential consideration since Shopify does not offer any data on the number of installs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In our study, we found that 4310 (34.98%) of the Shopify apps have no reviews. And 5510 (44.72%) of apps have more than 4.5 average ratings.
