Suffix in a name adds additional information about a person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In British English, the suffix is used to show the generational designation such as \u201cJr.\u201d and \u201cSr.\u201d For instance, John R. Smith Jr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, those who want to show the number of generation uses suffixes like \u201cI\u201d,\u201d II\u201d, \u201cIII\u201d, and so on, that indicates the first generation, the second generation and the third generation respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magento 2, a feature-rich platform that it is, allows merchants to enable the suffix field in the registration form from the admin panel! Similarly, there\u2019s an option to enable prefix in Magento 2 backend. If you want to show prefix field<\/a> in the registration form, you can easily do so by enabling the option in the admin panel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to Show Suffix Field in Magento 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Login<\/strong> to Magento 2 admin panel<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Navigate to Stores > Settings > Customers<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Under Customer<\/strong>, select Customer Configuration<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Expand Name and Address Options<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Set Required in the field \u201cShow Suffix\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Add the Suffix Dropdown Options<\/strong> separated by a semicolon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Save<\/strong> the configuration<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now, the suffix field is displayed while adding new address in the \u201cMy Account\u201d section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
